Galactooligosaccharides (GOS) are pre-biotic ingredients that support the growth of the beneficial bacteria such as Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus. GOS are not digestible by human gastric juice or pancreatic enzymes and pass unabsorbed to the colon where they are fermented by beneficial microflora.
